Who am I ‘My journey with me accompanied by God Journal
The story behind the journals!
I always loved journaling from a young age. It was my outlet for the bottled-up feelings. I poured my heart out into journaling, and it was definitely a coping mechanism during my childhood where I used journaling as an outlet. This was where I could write all my thoughts and feelings and talk to God. A time when I felt misunderstood, very vulnerable, and alone, and went through the most. I started journaling when I was in grade 5. Stopped after school and started journaling again when I was diagnosed with severe depression back in 2015 stopped again and started yet again when I started this platform.
The actual decision of launching the journal was really when my eldest daughter went through a difficult time. So I advised my daughter to start her journey through journaling about herself, making the title: ‘Who Am I’. I mentioned to her that she is on a path of discovering herself and it might seem foreign to her who she is and what she likes and it can be very confusing and frustrating at times.
This journal is really a gift to my daughters when they go through the different phases of their lives. It was vital for me to instill and introduce the same principles as a guideline for my children that their feelings are valid, heard, and important and to know no matter what they might face, God is always with them by using journaling as a way of expressing themselves.
This journal is really personal on so many levels. A time when I didn’t know who I was and I am still learning about myself every day. At the same time something that I could offer my children too. It was just as important to bring it into RaritybyU for our RareFam.
Naming the journal – ‘Who am I’ my journey with me accompanied by God
I told my daughter that it should be her ‘Who am I’ journey and to know that God is always with her even though I don’t always understand what she might be going through but God knows. That is how collaborated on the name, so it was really inspired by my daughter U-Kailah. The ‘Who am I’ my journey with me accompanied by God.
How it helped me
Different things work for different people. For me personally, journaling played a huge role in my healing, self-discovery, and self-awareness journey. This I discovered and used more in-depth when I was diagnosed with severe depression and I started writing again.
Word of encouragement!
**This is a journey of self-discovering, one’s rarities, your rareness, and what makes you; you. Some patterns, and behaviors, will change constantly throughout your life, while others may remain steady. Take note of it all and what has a negative and positive impact on your life, take the life lessons!
The bigger picture of it all is SEEING YOUR GROWTH AS A RESULT AND COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS. An internal audit, a lifelong journey of self-exploration, self-discovery, and self-love. You are getting to know yourself better! Allowing & loving you and starting with where you are at that very moment! Being gentle through it all.
‼️Self-exploration gives us an idea of who we really are, what we want, what we like, what we are comfortable with, and where we want to go in life. Reflect on our hobbies, likes, dislikes, and interests.
* A process of focusing attention on yourself, your personal beliefs, and aspirations
🔹What do you really want to be;
🔹It is a process of self-evaluation by self-investigation;
