Your Truth
Where it all began…
RaritybyU was born out of the burning fire just to tell it all.
The term ‘SpeakIt’ originated from events I could remember from as little as 3 years old, from extremely happy moments to traumatic events too. However, growing up, I was only allowed to tell the happy ones while I had to wave and smile keeping the rest to myself.
The term ‘WearIt’ originated from my passion for fashion and beauty, however, there was a point in my life when I used to hide my pain behind the makeup, clothes and even hair do’s but the scariest part, behind my smile.
The last term ‘OwnIt’ originated from when I owned my truth back in 2015 when I was diagnosed with severe depression from all the childhood traumas. During this journey, I’ve learned that there was absolutely no need to hide my pain, but to speak my truth. I found some kind of freedom every time I told my story but didn’t quite know how and what to do with it. It was important to heal and find my identity again.
Our brand name ‘RaritybyU’ and the powerful slogan ‘Born to tell my story, SpeakIt-WearIt-OwnIt-YourTruth’ originated from a word from God to me back in June 2019 and the word rare featured in that word.
RaritybyU was established in 2021 because this was the time I knew that I had to teach through what I went through and still go through daily.
We all have a past, a story, scars, and when you tell your story of how you overcame so many struggles and the life lessons you took from it; it becomes a guide for other people.
That we may step out of any situation that no longer serving us, and this will allow us to step into our unique Power and Truth, discovering all our rarities and living it out confidently. This platform is to NORMALIZE Rare conversations, creating awareness to SpeakIt, WearIt, owning our truths, through storytelling and in the process finding one’s identity again – ‘Your journey with you accompanied by God’
“Everyone has a story, and I believe in everyone’s story. There is something in sharing your truth. A true sense of Freedom every time you share your story. Most importantly, it can become a guide to someone else.”
I am sharing my life story, being open and vulnerable, wishing that it may touch lives and stimulating the bravery within everyone to speak their truth, so boldly by sharing their life lessons, the untold stories. We are not defined by what happened to us. We are all ‘Rarevivors’
The aim is to create awareness, grow, inspire, empower, motivate, laugh together, and simply learn from one another’s stories, and celebration of all RareFam, through storytelling. Most importantly get to know ourselves better; discover our identity again; living a life close to your truest and most authentic selves.
My life lessons taught me that facing one’s truth, speaking your truth, writing it down and forgiveness is where the healing process really begins and journaling was and still is an essential part of my journey; the ‘Who am I’ journey. A journey of finding one’s purpose; rarities and living it out confidently.
